Community Service

September- May: Twice a month students are taken to Fortress Youth Development Center to work with preschool to grade 1 students. CCA students help these kids with homework, play games, do arts and crafts, and spend time building lasting relationships and sharing the love of Jesus. CCA has been a part of the Fortress family for five years.

October-November: Every fall CCA sponsors a school wide Food Drive to help support the food ministry at Calvary Cathedral International. CCI goes into underprivileged areas and brings the gospel message as well as food and clothing to those in need. Each year Calvary Christian Academy does a tremendous job of collecting non-perishable food items that help feed hundreds of families in the Fort Worth area throughout the entire year.

November- December: CCA students volunteer to stuff stockings at Christmas time to be distributed among low income families.

Spring Semester: Every spring CCA sponsors a school wide service project. This particular service project changes every year, based on the needs of the community. One year we hosted a back pack drive to help support a local ministry called Beautiful Feet. Beautiful Feet is an outreach ministry that serves the homeless in Fort Worth. One of their greatest needs for the homeless are back packs and bags. The students and families of CCA were able to provide this ministry with hundreds of bags and back packs.

March: This year in March, NJHS will be volunteering for the Ronald McDonald House, which is an organization that serves the needs of families whose children are hospitalized with serious and long term illnesses.

September- May: NJHS conducts an after school tutoring program for students in elementary who are struggling academically.
